Top Selling Cars, Trucks, and SUVs of 2022 (So Far)

It's just halfway into 2022, but the top-selling automobiles in America are starting to take shape. For the automotive business, this year is among the most difficult, since it has been challenging for consumers to find new vehicles, much alone at a fair price as supply-chain problems continue to have an impact on dealer inventories. And despite record-high gas prices, Americans continue to purchase full-size pickups in more significant numbers than any other type. With Ford, Chevy, and Ram trucks at the top of the lists, the "big three" have so far managed to take the top three spots among the best-selling models in the United States this year.

According to data from Car and Driver, some of the sales statistics are so close that certain models might go up or down before the year is up. The following, in order of highest to lowest sales, are the top 10 vehicles sold in America in 2022:

1. Ford F-Series (467,307 units sold)

Offering everything from the electric F-150 Lightning through hybrids and Raptors, as well as F-150, F-250, and F-350 models. The F-Series has topped charts for years, and not even a 13 percent decline in sales could knock it off its stop. Buy Ford F-150 Parts here

2. Chevy Silverado (374,479 units sold)

The Chevrolet Silverado surpasses its performance from the previous year by selling 374,479 units of its full-size and heavy-duty trucks. This year's features include a new cabin, a multi-camera trailering system, and an improved diesel powerplant. Buy Chevy Silverado 1500 Parts here

3. Ram Pickup (363,089 units sold)

With models like the TRX, the Ram pickup series has directly targeted the F-150 in both light- and heavy-duty configurations, but the Ford F-Series has managed to avoid substantial threats from the Ram. In fact, it failed to even get silver in the sales race. However, to keep up with competitors they habe finally revealed a Ram EV pickup; better late than never. Buy Ram 1500 Parts here

4. Toyota RAV4 (303,341 units sold)

With 303,341 sales, the five-passenger with plenty of space, efficiency, and safety features, continues to rank as the fourth best-selling car. The RAV4 comes in a variety of models, from the plug-in hybrid RAV4 Prime to the tough RAV4 TRD. Buy Ram 1500 Parts here

5. Toyota Camry (214,403 units sold)

The first sedan on the list. The Toyota Camry has something for everyone to enjoy: a large pleasant interior, excellent dependability, and robust crash safety. It is yet another consistent leader in American auto sales. The Camry lost 17 percent of its market share but still outperformed several SUVs and far outperformed the Corolla, the second-best passenger vehicle. Buy Toyota Camry Parts here

6. Honda CR-V (178,687 units sold)

Picking up speed in the later half of the year, the Honda CR-V has long been a fan favorite and a best-seller, and the 2022 model's roomy cabin, solid standard safety tech, nimble and economical motor, and optional hybrid model make it a fantastic choice for a variety of drivers. 7. Toyota Tacoma (175,872 units sold)

It shouldn't come as a surprise that the Toyota Tacoma, consistently the most popular mid-size pickup vehicle, is on this list. However, the Tacoma did drop 12 percent compared with this time last year. Buy Toyota Tacoma Parts here

8. Jeep Grand Cherokee (172,545 units sold)

To everyone's surprise, the Jeep Grand Cherokee performs better than its cousin, the Jeep Wrangler. In fact, it's unusual for us to see Jeep's mid-size SUV at this position on the bestsellers list. Perhaps it was the new two-row variants that are now on sale and the three-row L model. Buy Jeep Grand Cherokee Parts here

9. Toyota Corolla (171,556 units sold)

The Toyota Corolla is a car industry behemoth that is popular not just in the United States but all around the world. It has a solid reputation for dependability, good safety features, a large interior, and a ton of standard equipment. Toyota has sold 171,556 of them so far this year. Buy Toyota Carolla Parts here

10. GMC Sierra (169,107 units sold)

The GMC Sierra has a terrific year in 2022 thanks to a new front-end design, improved displays, a stronger turbocharged engine, an AT4X model that's focused on off-roading, and the top-of-the-line Denali Ultimate trim. The 118,938 sales made so far are evidence of this. Buy GMC Sierra Parts here
